A Portfolio You Walk Through: Gamifying Access to Information
Browser game · p5.js, WebGL · progressive disclosure through level design
This interaction design prototype investigates spatial navigation and progressive disclosure as approaches to presenting personal and professional information. It organizes a curriculum vitae into twelve architectural levels. Completing a spatial task reveals the next narrative chapter, allowing visitors to encounter the material through sequential interaction.
Implementation
Built with p5.js and WebGL, the browser experience presents twelve chapters, from Origins to Now, within monochrome isometric environments navigated by walking. A split screen mechanic displays two related states of each space using different palettes, lighting conditions, and visible objects. This arrangement presents parallel information within a level and uses spatial progression to direct attention.
Environment Design
Project Outcomes
The project provides a personal case study of environment as interface. It explores how movement, experimentation, and gradual disclosure might offer alternative ways to access information typically presented through linear documents, including regulations, technical manuals, and contracts. Within the portfolio context, the prototype frames questions about how the method of access may influence attention and recall.
